Why seniors book refresher lessons
- Confidence check — feeling unsure about something specific (highway, night, lane changes, new car tech) and want a professional eye on it
- ICBC Senior Drivers Re-Examination prep — required for some drivers at age 80 and again at 85. We help you prep without the stress of waiting until test day
- Vehicle change — switching from automatic to a smaller car, or learning a new car's tech (lane assist, adaptive cruise, etc.)
- After a health change — recovering from surgery, vision change, medication change — getting professional reassurance you're still safe to drive
- Family concerns — your kids worry, you want an objective assessment to settle it
What we do in a senior refresher
- Initial low-pressure drive on familiar Abbotsford roads — your instructor observes
- Honest, kind feedback — what's going well, what needs work, what's age-related vs. just rusty
- Targeted practice on the specific skills flagged — usually mirrors, shoulder checks, gap judgement, or speed management
- Optional ICBC Senior Re-Exam mock — same format, same scoring, in your own neighbourhood
About the ICBC Senior Drivers Re-Examination
BC requires a road re-examination at age 80 and every 2 years after that for some drivers. Failing is not the end of your licence — ICBC may impose conditions (e.g., no night driving) or require re-test. The best way to pass is to prep with a few professional lessons rather than going in cold. One mock test ($55) tells you exactly where you stand.
